This morning when I dropped Jacob off at school, he came running back to the car like he’d forgotten something really important… when I rolled the window down to see what’s up.. He’s said,”Hey! Maybe we could got to the parp later moum!” -he then smiled, winked and went on his way … he’s nine years old.  In my book, if you can make me laugh, you have my heart.  I’d take a good laugh over chocolate ANY day. I suspect Jacob feels the same.

To fully understand why his comment made me smile all the way home, you’d have to go to the source.  I’ve long enjoyed Hyperbole and a half but would only get over there every so often.  Then one day, I reallized (much later than most I’m sure) that she was on Facebook,  I quickly ‘liked’ her.  I have to tell you, never have I been so glad for ‘liking’ someone on FB than the day this was posted.  I seriously laughed about it all day. ..I’m still laughing!

I’m not a very funny person, it happens like two times a year when I say something that is genuinely laugh out loud funny.  I can and do however, deeply appreciate funny people.  Being funny is quite a gift.  Not only is this girl funny, but she’s a great story teller, and her drawings are amazing and I’m not being sarcastic. It’s seriously  not easy to evoke such strong and clear emotions (in stick people no doubt!) yet, her drawings do so perfectly!  The facial expressions are priceless.

SOOO, back to the ‘parp’ comment by my son…  when I saw the post last week, {Please note that while this one is ok, some content on her site is not suited for kids.} I read it to  my husband and son while we drove to school. We laughed so hard.. the car was pretty much filled with old man wheeze-laughing for a good fifteen minutes.  Then, this morning, at the risk of being slightly late to class, Jacob came all the way back to the car, just to make me smile… and he did, I giggled all the way home.  And now I, am passing on the favor, Enjoy!

{All drawings in this post are property of Hyperbole and a half! Thanks! xo}
